8/3/13 Trip to Connecticut

The last day of my internship, I accompanied Michele to The Drawing Room Gallery in Connecticut to drop off some of her paintings for a current show. We started off at her gallery, while she added finishing touches to her paintings, I was wrapping the other pieces. Once everything was ready to go we loaded it all into the freight elevator, then into the minivan we were taking to Connecticut.
There was terrible traffic on the way up, it took us about 4 hours to get there.

The picture above is The Drawing Room Gallery in Connecticut.

Most of the pieces we loaded into the van were wrapped in tracing paper and then cardboard, we then put a layer of cardboard in between each layer of work. Michele is very precise about keeping her pieces safe from harm, and her method definitely works!

We brought all of her work into the gallery, however left them wrapped until they were going to install the show.

Along with the gallery, these two sisters own a store in which they sell artwork and furniture (everything was truly beautiful.) In the photo shown above Michele's painting "Inundation" hangs above the dresser. It's was great to see her artwork in a home-like setting, since I usually only see her paintings in galleries or in her studio.

Had to post this adorable dog, she's the gallery owner's dog.

It had been raining all day on our trip up to Connecticut, and as we were leaving the sun finally came out, I took this photo going over the George Washington Bridge.

It was a pretty stress free day, despite all the traffic. I really enjoyed seeing the interaction between the gallery and the artist they represent. I would definitely like to go on one of these trips again!
